Royal Commission into Aged Care – Key Matters

The Royal Commission into Aged Care estimates that the number of people aged 65 and older will rise from 3.7 million to 8.7 million by 2056*. This 235% rise will likely put unprecedented pressure on the industry and necessitate the implementation of effective strategies to better manage our aging population.

One strategy that has proven effective when deployed along with traditional aged care facilities is a focus on ‘Aging in Place’. This generally involves retrofitting homes with grab rails, accessories, etc. that contribute to a more supportive environment whilst minimising the institutional feeling that theses fixtures are generally associated with. By using this strategy, we maximise the comfort of the patient while reducing the demand on traditional aged care facilities.

Staying in your own home is not always an option, however RBA is fully prepared to provide for both strategies. We have an extensive range of grab rails, accessories, fixtures & fittings in a wide variety of finishes, designed predominantly with the aged care sector in mind. With over 10,000 quality grab rails in stock at any one time, we can be a part of the solution for a very complicated problem.
